Our Ministry in Ukraine

How is Reach Out-Nepal connected with Ukraine?

It all began in the early 2000s when we formed a relationship with a small Evangelical church in southern Poland. For many years, we provided support for this church in a variety of ways: construction projects, English camps, financial donations, and encouragement/accountability through relationships formed throughout the years. Since the war began in February 2022, that same church in Poland has been an unwavering source of supplies for survival and an encouragement and prayer partner to a network of pastors across Ukraine.

What is the church in Poland doing to help Ukrainians?

As soon as the war began last February, the church in Poland began collecting money to buy survival essentials to take to Ukraine. They have taken weekly trips to western Ukraine with buses full of (literal) tons of food supplies, medicine, cleaning products, clothes, heaters and gas stoves, windows, diesel fuel, generators, candles, blankets and sleeping bags, school supplies for children, and any other necessities they can bring. Members of the congregation have also housed Ukrainian women and children fleeing the war zones, sometimes for a few days, sometimes for longer periods of time, until they are able to travel further west into Europe or return home once it’s safe.

How are the supplies distributed?

Over the years, the church in Poland has formed relationships with many Ukrainian pastors, which provides the network needed to distribute supplies today. Church members from Poland volunteer their time to drive into western Ukraine and unload their supplies at several local churches. Believers in those congregations and pastors from surrounding areas come to pick up the supplies and distribute them to anyone in need in their local communities. We use this model because the local pastors know the people in their community and are able to discern how to help most effectively. We have heard stories from one brother who delivers supplies to churches over 300km/188 miles from his home; everyone he encounters along his way, everyone he passes out supplies to, hears about Jesus, and he is able to share the hope and joy he has that only comes from the true Savior.

Ministry Totals to Date:

Throughout the course of 2022, from March-December, the church in Poland was able to deliver over 244 tons of supplies, totaling $476,000.
